William "Tim" McGlothlin currently serves as the Executive Director for The Ergonomics Center of North Carolina. Reporting to the Edward P. Fitts Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering at North Carolina State University, the Ergonomics Center provides occupational ergonomics consulting, training programs and ergonomic solutions to corporate clients worldwide. He holds a masters degree in industrial engineering from the University of Tennessee and is certified by the Board of Certification in Professional Ergonomics (CPE).
Prior to his current assignment, Mr. McGlothlin has worked for two Malcolm Baldrige Quality Award-winning companies. First, he spent nine years at Motorola, Inc. where he served in various technical and manufacturing leadership positions. Then he worked fourteen years with Eastman Chemical Company where he served as Principal Ergonomist.
Mr. McGlothlin also serves on the faculty of the North Carolina Occupational Safety and Health Education and Research Center and is a frequent speaker at the regional and national level on successful ergonomic process implementation. He served four years as the Conference Co-Chair for IISE's annual Applied Ergonomics Conference and is currently serving as president-elect on IISE’s Board of Trustees.
