The Energy Systems (ES) Division is calling for nominations for two board directors whose terms will begin on June 1, 2022, with a two-year commitment. Nominees must be a current IISE member and an ES Division member. If you are a current IISE member, you can choose to be an ES Division member for free. Self-nomination is welcome!
The vision of the ES Division is to become the premier division for researchers and practitioners committed to advancing excellence in innovative modeling and exploring industrial and systems engineering tools for energy systems. Main responsibilities of the division board director include: i) attending division board meeting, ii) organizing division actives (e.g., leading awards committee and scheduling division presentations) in IISE Annual conference, and iii) participating in other division activities (e.g., division newsletters and division webinars).
ES Division currently has four great board directors, and they are Assistant Professor Ahmed Aziz Ezzat at Rutgers University – New Brunswick, Assistant Professor Benjamin D. Leibowicz at University of Texas – Austin, Associate Professor Ekundayo Shittu at George Washington University, and Associate Professor Pingfeng Wang at University of Illinois Urbana – Champaign.

IISE professional members have elected new leaders. Balloting was held from Dec. 13, 2021, to Jan. 28, 2022, to choose leaders for three Board of Trustee positions, two posts on the Technical Operations Board and six regional operations vice presidents. The winners, who assume their posts April 1, are:
The Operations Research Division Nominating Committee is making a call for nominations for 1 President-Elect and 2 dynamic directors whose terms will begin June 1, 2022. All nominees must be current, regular members of the Operations Research (OR) Division. Students are not eligible.
Take advantage of this excellent opportunity to serve your division in a significant way. If not you, then perhaps someone you know is qualified to take a leadership position on the OR Division Board.
Participating in a leadership role for the division is a challenging, yet at the same time, very rewarding experience. Each year, we attempt to maintain a broad distribution of board members with a balance between academia, industry and government representation.
The position is a two-year commitment with fantastic opportunities to network and give back to the profession. Generally the time commitment is three to five hours per month - about half of the time is during traditional business hours - with the term beginning June 2022. Interested candidates or nominators should complete the nomination form by January 28, 2022, for consideration by the OR Nominating Committee. Take a few minutes to consider submitting your name or that of a colleague to email@example.com at IISE Headquarters.
Contact Katie McConky nominating committee chair, if you have questions about the positions and responsibilities. Please consider giving back to your profession through a Society leadership position.
